Over 40 Leading Luxury Brands Sign Up with Edifice to Receive POS Reporting from their Retailers

Edifice demonstrates commitment to the luxury channel by enabling retailers and suppliers to collaborate more effectively on sales and inventory information

RIVERDALE, NJ - Aug. 31, 2009 - Edifice Information Management, an information services company specializing in improving the ability of retailers and suppliers to collaborate on point-of-sale (POS) and supply-chain data, today announced that since May, over 40 luxury brands have selected Edifice to receive POS reporting from their retailers. Edifice recently launched an initiative to enable suppliers and retailers in the luxury channel to more effectively collaborate on sales and inventory data.  The strategy has proven effective as many of the world’s top luxury brands have already begun participating.

Edifice proudly welcomes these new customers which include brands such as Liz Claiborne, Cole Haan, Judith Leiber, TUMI, Yurman Designs, Shiseido, John Hardy, Elizabeth Arden, Ferragamo, Coty, Safilo, Eileen Fisher, Christian Dior, Polo Ralph Lauren, and many more.  These new customers add to Edifice’s already large base of luxury apparel, footwear, and accessories suppliers which include L’Oreal, Tommy Bahama, Ermenegildo Zegna, Haskell Jewels, DKNY, Marc Jacobs, Perry Ellis, Burberry, Chantelle, and many more.

"We are very optimistic about the early success of our luxury channel initiative," said Stephen Cornwell, vp of marketing, Edifice Information Management. “We launched this initiative in the midst of a challenging economic environment where luxury retailers are being forced to find ways to reduce operating expenses.  These retailers are supporting our initiative because, now more than ever, they recognize that our services enable them to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.”

In addition, this challenging retail climate is forcing suppliers to understand consumer demand and inventory performance better than ever.  Suppliers are realizing that to gain a competitive edge, they need to be more in touch with the consumer.  Cornwell said, “This urgent need for better consumer and merchandising insights has driven many luxury suppliers to recently sign up for the Edifice service.”

Edifice will continue to demonstrate its commitment to the luxury channel.  The company plans to work with additional retailers on helping them reduce costs through outsourcing expensive and burdensome legacy supplier reporting processes.  It will also continue to work closely with suppliers to develop and enhance channel-specific reporting and analytics.
